Can I really start for free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever and needs no credit card: with 1 warehouse and 50 spools you can try the whole system. Upgrade — or downgrade — whenever you like.
How do I keep track of my filament?
The method that works in practice: put a QR label on every spool, then after a print drop the spool on a kitchen scale, scan the code and enter the total weight. Filamio works out the remaining filament, the usage and the value of your stock from that. A few seconds per spool instead of a spreadsheet.
How do I know how much filament is left on a spool?
Subtract the weight of the empty spool from the total weight — what is left is filament. Filamio stores the empty spool weight per brand, so you only need to measure the total: it calculates the remainder and shows it as a percentage.
Do I need a smart scale?
No. Any kitchen scale will do: weigh the spool and type the number in. The smart scale is a convenience extra that will log the weight automatically — it is still in development.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Filamio runs in the browser at app.filamio.com and as an Android app. You scan QR codes straight with your phone's camera.
Does it work with Bambu Lab, Prusa and other brands?
Yes, with any manufacturer. You add the brands, materials and colours yourself, so Bambu Lab, Prusa, Sunlu, eSun, Filamentum or any other spool is tracked the same way — PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU and ASA alike.
Does it work offline?
Not at the moment. Filamio is an online service: both the web app and the Android app need an internet connection. In exchange, every device shows the same up-to-date inventory.
How many printers and team members can I use it with?
We do not limit the number of printers — the plans differ in spools, warehouses and users. Free and Pro are single-user; Business lets you invite unlimited colleagues to the same inventory, which is why it suits print farms and print services.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
You can delete the account yourself in the app, and the data is removed immediately. Before that, from Pro up you can export your spool list to CSV, and under GDPR you can request your data in a machine-readable format at any time.
Where is my data stored?
In EU data centres. The application server and database run at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, and the website is hosted by a Hungarian provider. Passwords are only ever stored hashed, and all traffic goes over HTTPS.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, in a couple of clicks, with no notice period and no explanation needed. The subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account drops back to Free — your data stays.
How is this different from a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet works exactly as long as you keep updating it after every print. Filamio makes that step fast: scan a QR code on your phone, get the remaining weight and stock value calculated for you, split across warehouses, shared with colleagues, with usage history built in — and no formulas to maintain.
